Do you need a car for a vacation in Zell am See?
Our guests ask us this question time and time again. Our answer: No, you don't necessarily need your own car for a vacation in Zell am See-Kaprun.
Zell am See has its own train station, and many towns and attractions in the region are accessible by bus and train. Our guests enjoy an additional benefit: the Salzburg Guest Mobility Ticket.

By Train to Zell am See
Especially if you have a long trip ahead of you, taking the train can be a pleasant alternative to driving. The Zell am See train station is located right in the center of town.
And from there, we'll be happy to take care of the last few kilometers to our place:
Guests at the Hotel Latini can use our free train station shuttle. Pickup is available between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. and must be requested at least 24 hours in advance.
Our staff member will be waiting for you on the station plaza with a name tag and will take you directly to the hotel.
That way, your vacation can begin right away—without having to look for a parking spot or drive anywhere.
Guest Mobility Ticket: Public transportation included
The Salzburg Guest Mobility Ticket is a particularly great benefit for a car-free vacation.
Our guests receive the Guest Mobility Ticket year-round. It is valid for the entire duration of their stay, including the day of arrival and departure. The ticket allows guests to use public transportation throughout the SalzburgerLand region.
This means that you can not only get around within Zell am See, but you can also reach numerous destinations outside the immediate area by public transportation.
The Guest Mobility Ticket complements the Zell am See-Kaprun Summer Card, which our guests receive during stays between May 15 and October 31.

From the Hotel Latini, straight into your vacation day
Our location in Schüttdorf is also convenient for a car-free vacation.
The AreitXpress valley station is just a few minutes' walk from the hotel. From there, you can head straight up from Schüttdorf to the Schmittenhöhe.
Lake Zeller is also within walking distance. For other destinations, public transportation is available near the hotel.
That way, you can leave your car behind without any problems while you're on vacation—or you can travel without a car at all.

From our hotel, you can walk to the AreitXpress valley station. From there, you can head straight up into the mountains of the Schmittenhöhe.
Zell am See and Lake Zell
You can quickly reach the center of Zell am See by public transportation. Once there, you can stroll through the old town, take a boat ride, or spend a relaxing day by the lake.
Kaprun and Kitzsteinhorn
Kaprun and the valley stations on the way to Kitzsteinhorn are also accessible by public transportation. This makes it easy to plan a trip to the high-Alpine mountains even without a car.
High-Mountain Reservoirs in Kaprun
The high-mountain reservoirs are among the region's most impressive tourist attractions. Here, too, you can combine your trip with public transportation.

What if you do end up coming by car?
Of course, a car-free vacation day doesn't mean you have to travel without a car.
If you're driving your own car to the Hotel Latini, our free underground parking garage is available for your use. There, you can conveniently park your car and still get around by bus, train, or on foot during your stay.
This means you won't have to worry about finding a parking spot on many of your outings, and you can relax and enjoy the scenery along the way.
Our Tip for a Car-Free Vacation
Don't plan every connection weeks in advance. For many trips, it's enough to check the current schedule the night before or in the morning and then decide on a destination for the day.
