Hotel Latini, a four-star hotel in Zell am See-Schüttdorf, includes its Gold Spa in every stay: an indoor pool of about 5 x 11 metres at about 28 °C, open 7 am to 9 pm (from 6 pm for adults and anyone aged 14 or over), and saunas from age 14. For a whole day at a big spa, go to the Tauern Spa in Kaprun.

I'm Ursula Auer from Hotel Latini. Working in quality management, I am involved in all sorts of things at the hotel: sometimes at reception, sometimes in the office, and really wherever there is something to be done.

What the Gold Spa includes

The Gold Spa is the hotel's own pool and sauna area, included for hotel guests. It suits a swim and a sauna before or after a day out on a summer or winter holiday, rather than a whole spa day. Photos and the full details are on the Gold Spa page.

Massages, facials and a spa day without staying

The Gold Spa also has a treatment menu. On the massage side there is a classic massage, an aroma oil treatment and a hot stone massage; for your skin there is a classic facial, a sea salt scrub and an aroma oil wrap on the soft-pack lounger. The full list is in the hotel's Gold Spa brochure, and it is worth booking your slot before you travel.

Massages start at 50 minutes and are booked by phone on +43 6542 5425. Visitors who are not staying at the hotel can book a spa day without staying the same way: the Day Spa gives them the indoor pool, the saunas and the gym.

The Tauern Spa is in Kaprun, not in Zell am See itself, although its full name is Tauern Spa Zell am See-Kaprun. It covers more than 20,000 m², with a water world, a textile-free sauna world and its own children's spa. For a shorter visit there is a 3-hour ticket from €24.00, which gives you 4 hours for the price of 3, and an evening ticket from €25.50 with check-in from 5 pm until closing. Prices change with availability and the time of booking, so check the price for your day before you go.

For swimming lengths, go to the public indoor pool in Zell am See: it has a 25-metre pool, a 1-metre springboard and a 3-metre diving platform.

Getting there by bus 660

Bus 660 runs between Zell am See and Kaprun and stops right outside the Tauern Spa's front door. In the afternoon and evening, every bus 660 in both directions stops in Schüttdorf at Tischlerhäusl and at ÖBB-Postbus Garage, which is about a 5-minute walk from the hotel. You travel with the Salzburg Mobility Ticket, included with every hotel guest's stay: it covers public transport across the whole province of Salzburg, arrival and departure days included.

For the way back: from 16 October 2026 the last listed bus back from the Tauern Spa leaves at 7.57 pm, although the water world is open until 9 pm. Before an evening visit, especially in winter, check the bus 660 timetable.

Bringing children

Hotel Latini is a family-run four-star hotel, and children are welcome in the Gold Spa pool during the day. From 6 pm the pool is kept for adults and teenagers aged 14 and over, who are welcome in the pool and the saunas in the evening as long as they keep to the spa rules. Couples who would rather swim without small children can go then; dinner for half-board guests is from 6.30 pm to 8.30 pm. The saunas are from age 14.

For slides, go to the Tauern Spa or the public indoor pool. The Tauern Spa's Kinder SPA Kidstein has the 127-metre tube slide; children aged 3 to 14 pay from €17.00, and a family day ticket costs from €74.00 for 2 adults and 1 child or from €91.00 for 2 adults and 2 children. Its sauna world is from age 15. The public indoor pool in Zell am See has a 74-metre giant slide and a 32 m² baby pool with a toddler slide; there, children born in 2021 or later go in free with an adult.

Family rooms have a sofa bed, and cots are available on request, subject to availability. In the summer holidays the hotel runs Cool Kids, a free children's programme. More on family holidays at Hotel Latini.

Working in quality management, I am involved in all sorts of things at the hotel: sometimes at reception, sometimes in the office, and really wherever there is something to be done. For me, Zell am See is not just where I work; it is a place I have grown very fond of, with its mountains, its lake and some truly special moments. My personal highlight: a few runs on the Schmittenhöhe, with the glorious view over Zell am See and the surrounding mountains.
